TORDESILLAS, SPAIN

Spain and the EU should be totally and utterly ashamed of themselves.

Although this story is now 2 years old, this abhorrent tradition still continues to be a regular occurrence throughout Spain and the Spanish just aren’t listening to the outcry of absolute horror regarding the horrendous cruelty/abuse that they inflict on these poor, magnificent beasts.

On September 9th, hundreds of people travelled to Tordesillas (Valladolid) to protest against one of the worst animal abuses in Spain: the Toro de la Vega. A hapless bull is chased through the town by a huge rabble of drunken people armed with swords that stab him until he falls dying and then they cut his sexual organs and tail while he is still alive, as a “ trophy”.

This year’s victim was called Jaquerito, but he was too "peaceful" so another poor bull, Enrejado, took his place in the torture.  How is it possible that this extreme cruelty is allowed to this day in the EU?  Spain and the EU should be totally and utterly ashamed of themselves.  Bull fighting/Bull chasing also known as the Bull Run does not belong in modern Europe.

I do not have the heart to post any photographs of this vile tradition of which there are plenty on the internet.

There have been many petitions to stop this atrocity but seemingly to no avail.  Maybe we need to start being vocal again so that our voices are heard.  If you would like any details as to where you can officially utter your despair, please e-mail me.
